The Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked is the latest high watchmaking iteration of the brand’s iconic Royal Oak, the 1970s sports replica watches for sale that jumpstarted the “luxury sport” genre of watchmaking. The movement is the star feature of the three new editions, with a patented double balance wheel system and an openworked architecture that is finished in either pink gold or gray anthracite.
There are three UK AAA fake watches, with cases in stainless steel, black ceramic (limited to 150 pieces) or 18k yellow gold. On the steel and black ceramic models, the movement is given a pink gold finish, with matching hexagonal screws on the bezel, and on the yellow gold model, the movement is finished in anthracite gray. The movement, automatic caliber 3132, has an interesting architecture, first because it is openworked but also because it has two balance wheels and two hairsprings, assembled on the same axis, with one on top of the other. They are synchronized in a way that regulates the rate of the escapement, which improves precision and stability.
Openworking is not a new metiers at Audemars Piguet. In the early 1970s, a handful of young Audemars Piguet watchmakers set out to revive the art of openworking, which had declined in popularity since the 1950s. They set up a workshop with AP dedicated to the craft, delivering the first watch in 1973, followed by 30 more by 1976 – each cheap copy watches required 150 hours to openwork by hand, a process that requires a great deal of dexterity and a knowledge of how to carve away as much of the metal as possible without causing the movement to lose stability. By 1978, they had produced 300 openworked pieces, and by 1984, the workshop employed a dozen craftspeople. The art fell into disuse again briefly during the era of quartz movements, but was revived by perfect Audemars Piguet replica watches again in the 1990s.
Over the years, the best replica Audemars Piguet Royal Oak collection watches has grown to include some 50 openworked references. These three new references, each with 41mm cases, represent a modern interpretation of the art of openworking, with the arrangement of components on multiple levels and depths, all finished by hand. The stainless steel model is priced at $76,400. The black ceramic and yellow gold Swiss movements super clone watches are $101,100.
